Forbidden Love

Easy, love has always been,

never hard to grasp.

Never hard to begin,

always blooming fast.

No obstacles in my way

always a clean road.

Always free for us to share,

no secrets to be told. 

Close friends we started out to be,

close friends is all we were.

Nothing more for us to see,

until sparks began to stir.

These feelings that I have for you,

are forbidden, that I know.

One thing that I know is true,

this love just cannot grow.

Maybe in another time

we’ll have a fighting chance.

Perhaps another song or rhyme,

we’ll let us have our dance. 

For now I must give up this fight,

I’ll swallow this feeling whole.

The spark for now will not ignite,

 buried in the depths of my soul.
