A Story by Megan

"He's looking at you again, Reese." I could hear my roommate saying something to me but I was way too deep into my day dream to answer her. "Reese. Earth to Reese." Michaela started snapping her fingers in my face only because she knew it was one of major pet peeves. "What?!" I asked sharply. Michaela put her elbow on the table and rested her chin in her hand. "He's looking at you again. This happens every time we eat dinner at the same time as him. You should totally go and talk to him."
I rolled my eyes. "Yeah, says the girl that never has to buy a drink when we go out." Michaela was beautiful. She had long, curly, dark hair and dark eyes to match. She had what guys described as the perfect body: tiny frame with big b***s. Even though her harsh personality sometimes put people off, they always had a way of coming back to her. And I... I"m just plain old me. I wear frumpy, ugly sweaters partly because they're comfy beyond belief but also because they do a good job of covering up my chunky frame. I'm not that chunky, but just enough that I don't catch the eyes of any guys that you'd find on my college campus. Yeah, I have big b***s. But I also have big thighs to go along with them. (Now hold on, you're probably thinking, I didn't sign up to read any of this personal-pitty-party s**t. And I know you didn't, I'm merely stating the facts because it'd be a complete and utter lie if I told you that I was some hot piece of a*s... because I'm not.)
Michaela left the conversation alone at that remark. She knew it was no use trying to convince me to talk to him. It just wasn't happening. We picked up the wrappers that our burritos came in and left the dining area. It was a short and quiet walk back to our dorm. Maybe I should have talked to him. Maybe even just smiled back. He was cute. "Hey Michaela?"
"What's up, peach?"
"I think I forgot my wallet in union. I'm gonna go back and check." She knew just as much as I did that my wallet was in my coat pocket. She also knew that I had finally grown the balls to say something. Just as I had turned around I ran right in someone. "Oh my gosh, I'm so-" It was him. I lost my entire train of thought and now I was standing there like an idiot. Say something! I said to myself. "I... uh... Hi."
He smiled at me. "Hi."

Author's Note

Megan
I know it's rough, and I'm not that good at the whole people-talking-in-stories thing. I'm not posting this for feedback; but if you give it, it won't be ignored. :)
