[ nothing to my name ]

[ nothing to my name ]

A Poem by winter;lyra

nothing to my name
the guitar strings sleep
but rays shimmer through
echoing inside my ears
a great leap forward

awoken red between rivers
snakes slither past stores
cold pruning the stories
withering all that knows
of a past unbridled

nothing to my name
a hundred flowers bloom
in all sprouting truth
but the bees fold
refusing to take flight

that silence howls full
as the youth before
as the one now
steel to be handled
hands to be steeled
