A Poem by winter;lyra

i write poetry
because it takes me back
to when i had strength instead of relief
standing on the reef facing my fears
instead of handling stranger tears

alright i
believe in sudden reasons
to cross my heart and swear fealty
although i'm lost in my paradox
growing moss springs my heart
rowing fast past salt rivers
out of place this one not meant for this kind of lace

she asked
what are your
plans for the future
well i've got no future
just a serious death wish
and some other tendencies
f**k off your pleasantries
i've got enough mutinies

so dark yet through the metaphors used, there is a clear understanding of the poem
