"what a sad world" - said the bread seller

"what a sad world" - said the bread seller

A Poem by winter;lyra

You could throw the dice
Watch dem heads roll
Tap into the red carpet and watch your feet stagger
You're a beggar, because you're lesser than bloody and more human than sturdy...

hey boys and girls
ask your father what of the war
"another bag of rice
is another batch of rats
across the halls;
to poison our children and stain our minds"
hey before the mice, and the lice
what's the price of your pride?

attest the bias then you're pious
attend the fire if you're sparkfull

we could hold our breath

"we're all burning men"
then she shook her basket
"we're all marauding murderers"
she pledged our rest
"what a sad world" - said the bread seller

I loved this piece!! It was so whimsical but still strong with relatable emotions

What a great title , said TJ.
And what a good poem that is hitched to said title, said TJ.
And what a wonderful invented word is 'sparkfull' - yea verily it is indeed one I wish I created said TJ.
