A bedtime lullaby

A bedtime lullaby

A Poem by winter;lyra

no no no momma
i don't wanna go to sleep
i feel i
am a bigger dreamer when i'm standing on my feet

no
oh no no no no
momma please
i'm still waiting for my release
momma please understand
i don't wanna go to school
they will never understand
they wanna put me down and teach me how to sit
all day
c'mon momma please
see how i feel
so please while i'm real
let me spread my wings and speak with my own beliefs

not about the lullaby at all but about the institutionalisation of the young minds by society - because society expects, nay demands that every generation be 'the same'.
nicely done in the childs voice Winter.
