A World of Words

A World of Words

A Poem by winter;lyra

I feel out of place
Ironically
A poet in a world of words
The writer's paradise is perhaps the cause of my boredom?

Catalogued faces, races, racing
To the highest places
Tagged and packed
Decked on shelves neatly stacked

There's no poetry in this

Where's the wonder in this?
What's a pygmy's life without poetry?
What a prison
What affliction

Oh how I long for the heroes and the wizards
For the chants and the legends
Of kings and poets

I long
For the world of action
I despise this world of pedestal driven words
