Meaning

Meaning

A Poem by winter;lyra

It's all pointless
So I concluded
Yet the thought
Crossed my mind
The need of meaning
And this greedy ego of mine
To avoid the realization of the meaningless

Were I to live for something other
Than my species
Were I to defile this order
And seek something within myself
Instead of something within ourselves...

The ideia to betray my brothers seemed
Easy and immediately
Its breeze cleared my mind from all the guilt

Were I to live within my own world
Instead of living within the "real" world
Which presents nothing but
A faint never seen dying light
To the vast cosmos...

Were I to live within my own world...

Were I to breath for nothing else
Than my own ideals...

Were I to play this game alone...

And were I to prove my point to the world...

Would I be able to die with a smile of pride on my face?

So I concluded
He who seeks meaning
Has no choice
But to walk a path paved in lies
