Another Warrior That Never Stood Up

Another Warrior That Never Stood Up

A Poem by winter;lyra

The birds flew north
Across the mountain
Pierced the cold wind
And retrieved the stolen reason
Of their flight

And then

They came to me unscattered
And presented me with thoughts
I could not perceive yet
I could interiorize

They taught me how to fall
And how to crawl when I fall
And to never blame it on my flaws
Even when the judge calls my name

And then

Those birds flew south
To the southern pole
Where a southern cold
Fallen from hope
Remained frozen
Nothing had it stolen
It had only given up
On crawling over
The slippery only ground it ever knew

They promised they'd bring me a friend
A friend to play with
A friend to play words with
A love to replace the missing gear
And watch over my defenceless rear

Another warrior that never stood
