Teen Bliss

Teen Bliss

A Poem by winter;lyra

Ever since you've been gone
My inner core seems to startle
Upon the image of your face
For it does not know
Who could be this creature
In constant departure
The paradox each memory represents
Your lips
Your hair
Your voice
Your stare
I cannot forget
Yet
I fail to remember
The who we're burying
In concrete
Along bliss
With deep grief
Teen bliss I fail to forget
Deep grief I fail to forget
The empty canvas of your face
I fail to forget
Ever since you've been gone

I like this poem very much. It feels vey familiar, like a few years ago in my own world... when I was a teenager. This is a tough time in life. Emotions all over the place and little to know guidance on how to put everything in perspective. Add the life changing losses and "new" experiences to process and you have a witches brew to drink.
One small observation on the poetry. I did like the repeat of, " I fail to forget", however, consider an edit where you focus on the complexity and contradiction of the "bliss" found in "teen bliss". Consider being less abrupt and let the idea flow with the use of synonyms rather than repetition.
Overall a very good poem and a read I enjoyed.
