Bed of Lies

Bed of Lies

A Poem by Tamika Finley

The nights..
You made promises..
Said you'll save me..
Be my knight..
Pronounced you loved me..
Will take my hand in marriage at 25..
Make me your wife..
It sounded well..
It felt right..
It would bring me comfort..
Though I knew the nouns and verbs held no truth..
I would give anything..
Just for us to lie..
While you give me false hope..
In our bed of lies.
