Warning

Warning

A Poem by John Willis Clarke
"

Just a little piece about how I feel about the state of humanity. A little jingly whittle, airy fairy ditty, so to speak.

"

You've been rollin' like a fly

In the nightmare web

Crying in the night
As your energy ebbs

There's a cat in the kitchen
Where the knives are kept
Telling you all the reasons
That Jesus wept

Its Islam and the f*****s
Its the alms for the poor
You will pick up all his habits
As you walk out the door

And its a cold night
As you move through the town
And they've been whispering behind you
they've been putting you down

You've been dying to pay
For the ride up ahead
With your reason and your sympathy
Cause it caresses your dread

And there's a cat in the kitchen
And his eyes are turning black
He says if you go with him
You may not look back

You're either with him or against him
Cause he don't listen to friends
He's the one that's gonna say
How this s**t ends

And I'm out here with the immigrants
The lonely and the sad
I've looked into their eyes
You know they ain't so bad

They're not trying to take your children
They're not trying to take your dough
They're just trying to get away
From all the shootin' and the blow

They say its OK if you hate us
Just please don't send us back
to the rapists and the dealers
With their eyes all turning black

Some day we're gonna have to face
These nests of s**t that we've ignored
The only question when we burn a place
Is how much we've let it grow

This cat thinks he's a genius
But I see he's a hog
With his head in the clouds
And his a*s in the fog

His avatar; a Chimera
With a proud whipping tail
Horns like a goat
Leaving slime like a snail

Don't say you weren't warned
To busy being impressed
By jets and loose women
When the button is pressed

When the s**t's in the air
About to hit the fan
Be sure and take your fair share
of blame like a man

Because the cat was in the kitchen
He was feeding you lies
And you got on your knees
and you closed your eyes
