Fling

Fling

A Poem by Nancy
"

like the forbidden fruit, we are drawn to it

"

Eyes like sweet nectar reels me in

Like Eve, I hunger for the forbidden

If caught, the devil bears the blame

The danger thrills,

It dissolves wills

Right or wrong fades

Awashed into the web of Hades

I cling, I long for the sting

Wishing it wasn’t all but a fling

For I’m drawn like a cancer to the body

I’m attached like lice to the hair

I’m stuck like pimple to the face

I’m pulled like pin to a magnet

Yet I must pretend

With another to which I pledge

Undying devotion

I have now become Janus

A robot that serves its master and

A companion to a company
