No seconds in life

No seconds in life

A Poem by N3v3r_2_L@t3
"

If there are no seconds in life, why should there be seconds in love?

"

Lights flicker soundlessly in my darkest second

nothing to spare, sorry doesn't count

he layed his heart on the line,

while yours was merely a foot off the ground

locked doors, keep nothing inside

for they always open, with some sort of key

you held the key, that pulled the alarm

sirens of wails, careening off of the inside of my heart

he came up silently, slinking in the dark shadows

and broke the lock with a glance

and stole my heart with a word

you sit there in your guilt, swaying around you are words of remorse

words never said, always on the borderline of your throat

we stand tall hand in hand

you sit, hand on your bleeding chest

you had your chance

there are no seconds in life
