Sea, me, danceA Poem by MeathooksMcGeeTo say good bye may be the right thing to do, but it's never easyThe sheltering sky, charcoal grey and broad soft sheets of blood orange from the city lights not far away - a forest fire without the forest or the fire. Men have died heroically with in these now gently lapping waves. In the distance of the shore line, another solo traveler. It’s this less traveled place that makes one feel a want to reach out and connect with those who would otherwise just be another nameless face on a busy street corner. You're there with me one last time in my mind, in my heart; I'll reach down and slowly confess my love for you in the soft, wet, warm sand with my finger, I love you ….. , I write. The tide will come in sooner or maybe later, the result will be the same. Like you, like my slowly waning memory of you, my confession will wash away and be lost to the timelessness of the sea; now, right now though I will dance like you are still right here with me, we will dance, we dance. © 2017 MeathooksMcGeeAuthor's Note
