Short DuoA Poem by PerplexationFirst collection of my short poems.Story of Time Time is our own illusion; Masked by it’s own confusion; Perhaps we run out of it; Or perhaps we cannot get enough of it; We wish the days were shorter; Back when things would only cost a quarter; The clouds keep moving through life; Though this time cuts through us with a knife; One day I came back and I said; If I cannot beat time, I may as well be dead; That was when I woke at nightfall; The grandfather clock chiming, making my inner soul crawl; And in that grandfather clock, was a note… ...Little to my knowledge, it was one that I wrote. Keystrokes Those narrow keystrokes; My mind has begun to cloud itself in a cloak; Only one stroke away; And she would’ve gotten my ‘happy birthday’; I find that life's not fair in itself; Sometimes we must all hang our coat on the bookshelf. But, does that mean there is no meaning; Or does my soul need it’s daily cleaning; I write what matters to our hearts; Because on the inside, we’re all just broken scrap parts. No, we cannot all be repaired; However, I will for sure be the first one to tell you that I cared; © 2016 PerplexationAuthor's Note
