Ode To Peace

Ode To Peace

A Poem by Meanderer
"

Peace

"
Where there is no rain " of tears
Where there is no roar " of lips
A lull settled forth
In the absence of a babel of voices
When one expansive silence saturates
The receptive senses
And a million sentiments disappear
To the meditation of the soul
A place of one identity
Where there is no eye for an eye
Or a throat for a throat
Just a shoulder to a shoulder
And a lip to a lip

A single horizon sans the tide of dominion
And the whimper of subjugation
A place of absences
Of color, of creed, of greed, of gender, of possession
Filled by the universal mortar of love
Where there are no forces or counter-forces
Just the perfect poise of equilibrium
Where creatures of one universal tree
Form the fruits of evolution
To feed each other " to symbiose in love

A place unified by resonating hearts
Sometimes by an article of paper
As borders fade and maps are torn
Where saliva is imprinted on cheeks
And fraternity is exchanged by a bridge of palms
Dream of every citizen and of every soldier
A fundamental human right fragmented
By the mosaic of color and creed
Where the voices of polarized gods speak louder
Than the whispers of the conscience

Peace, the most precious state of destiny
Yet the loneliest place in history
