An Anticlimactic First KissA Poem by MeandererA First Kiss
I could feel the tickle of the toes
And the lunging tear of the eye Yet I could not finish what I aspired Nor imprint what legacies venerated As an immortal phenomenon Sublimed in to thin air I drew you in the midst of passion Of an uncharted moment A tryst with destiny, and her wheels I surrendered like a ship to a lighthouse Wanting what others possessed And what I couldn't hold even for a fragment of time Bliss abandoned me, watered saliva soothed me Tongues groped blindly Marooned by the eye lids I could not sustain my desire Nor blossom like a flower Liberated by my lips' virginity Yet I stood now, a slave to her essence I interluded, crumbling inside Caught by destiny's fold Caged in an anti-thesis Of what anticipation sculpted And reality relegated A flower with no nectar or taste A foray to the unknown, that awoke me To the pits of expectation And the thorns of actuality A first kiss to the labile grip of time To strange lips that estranged desire What jostled with fate but rustled to fault For lips don''t matter Only the heart beneath her........ © 2014 MeandererAuthor's Note
