My Christmas Wish

A lonely girl's Christmas wish.

It has been a long time since I last saw you.

It has been a long time since I last heard your voice.

I never heard anything from you,

And you regarded me like I am not existing at all.

No calls, no text messages, no emails.

It's like you vanish at the face of the earth.

It's like you cut off every connection we have.

Do you really hate me that much?

All I ever want is a father's loving touch.

All I ever want is father's loving smile.

All I ever want is to grow up having a father around.

Is it really impossible to have that wish?

I often envy other families .

They always spend their Christmas happily and completely together.

But here I am spending my time at home all alone,

Sitting at the front porch, wondering when will you call.

It's my only wish every Christmas. 

But it hurts so much when it won't come true.

They say it's all right because there are still many years to come.

Yes, there are more to come but I hope I'm still there when it passes by.

I can relate, not with my father but my Grandfather. We haven't seen or heard from him in 3 years. For all we know he could have died... he only lives a few miles away but it's like another world. I would kill to hug him, tell him how much I miss him and love him and tell him Merry Christmas.. it's a beautiful poem. Made me cry a bit. I loved the stanza "All I ever want is a father's loving touch..." It's a really relatable feeling. Very nice.

I can relate to this so well, I have a father... its a long story, even though he's not with us, sometimes I just wish I would get a call saying Merry Christmas.
I try not to give in to my emotions, being a guy and being strong going through a rough life.. but this beautiful write brought a couple of tears down my cheeks... the cold breeze blowing against them made it all to clear that I was crying. Beautiful write. You're a true talent.

very good write... Funny how people think a write has to be from personal experience isn't it... if that were true I would have run over a 5 year old girl (Don't Leave") I would have been in the military ("Not the Man I Was") I would be a little girl (Jonathan - My True Love") and I would an even older man with an invalid wife (I'll Not Throw In The Towel") Hahaha. So you go on using your imagination and you will keep on get brilliant stuff like this, no explanations needed for those people who have no imagination. btw you may enjoy "Father" A Poem by RFDIII. I will send you a read request.
