My Dearest Friend

Through thick or thin, even through the direst ploy

Ever since my childhood you’re always there with me.
The tears, the laughter, the pranks, the horrors, the faults,
You’ve seen it all, just impassively watching me
Even when everything’s put in a sudden halt.

You are always my playmate and my enemy.
Still, among other things I treasure you the most.
Even though you’re motionless you stand out for me
And bring me merriness without even a cost.

You are my pillow in the middle of sadness,
My sole listener in the midst of a big mess,
My punching bag in the noisy world of madness,
And the chaser of nightmares in my sleeplessness.

But through thick or thin, even through the direst ploy,
You stayed and bore with me until the end of it.
I am thanking you for that my dearest stuffed toy.
You’re ready fall with me in the deepest pit.

This is soooooooo cute, I definitely know this... my Gloria (stuffed cat) is the sole person, well, toy I can talk to who's unbiased and will just let me vent for a while... who is tattered by life, my life, but is still here with me ever since childhood. Touching, little poem indeed, well done ;)

I loved it... get ready for this... I am 54 years old and still have 2 stuffed toys from when I was a child. Keep them! they are well worn but are now antiques on display in the home. a real conversation piece. and just seeing them on occasion brings me joy.
