The movie will be helmed with director Chad Stahelski, the director of the John Wick series, so it's widely expected that this film will be filled with amazing action sequences. The film is currently being scripted by Takashi Doscher who is the director of certain indie films, but it's still unclear what degree it will be based on the game. Because the film is being drafted, there's no release date or casting information available at the moment.
God of War is making its way onto the tiny screen through an Amazon TV series. Earlier this year, there was a rumor about the fact that Sony as well as Amazon were in talks to bring Kratos God of War's story to life however, nothing was confirmed. The past week, Sony confirmed that God of War would be adapted to be streamed by Amazon's streaming service.
But it seems like it's probably in the very early stages. There is no writer, director, or casting has been assigned to the project, but Dave Bautista suggested that he's open to play Kratos in order to prove the naysayers wrong.Another show that was confirmed this week was an adaptation of the Horizon series.
Horizon is the one that is most likely to be the least followed of the games since it's an extremely rich and diverse world filled with unique characters outside of Alloy. God of War and Ghost of Tsushima's titles refer to the same character that's why they're tied to their respective protagonists, but Horizon can branch out a bit more. At present, the only thing we know is that it's in the works at Netflix.
