Even though rumors were circulating on the internet this week, EA continues to plan to launch two updates to Madden 22's franchise mode, reiterating the details of its support for Madden as a live service game.

In a statement issued today, EA Sports told IGN: We do not like to speak about rumors or speculation, but we're determined to enhance Franchise as a aspect of our Madden NFL 22 live experience, and even beyond. The two updates are part of the Franchise updates that we'll deliver during Madden NFL 22. We will have more details on these updates in the new year.

This announcement comes in response to a report by Sports Gamers Online that EA had opted to cancel additional Franchise mode update for Madden 22. The IGN report was based on an interview with Madden 22 executive producer Seann Graddy.

Graddy declared that the current content plan is "slightly more modest than previous years before" as the team is focussing on a few key areas instead of trying to launch content on the scale of Superstar KO, a well-received arcade mode introduced in Madden 20.

"I think that the plan is] probably slightly less ambitious than previous years since we're focusing on a handful of segments from Madden 22 and also getting started up on Madden 23 in a big manner," Graddy said at the time. "So I'm sticking to what we've been saying for the last couple of years: we're a live service and we'll keep updating our game but definitely not going to be talking about a new mode."
