Intriguing haiku. Expense in my dictionary has 6 different meanings. Present (adj) has 8 different meanings, while present(n) and (v) has 12 different meanings. The mind can make of it what it wants. And the last line I like to interoperate as opening a gift (the future) The best present of all! Goodness me, how clever you are!

very clever. and the real meaning of Present...and that past expense...those emotions that took their toll...no money back---but slowly we can get some of the emotions back if we give it a chance.
