ElementalA Poem by michael rosenthalA discourse of Nature's ability to profoundly influence one's existence if the individual can open him/herself to its powerElemental I’ve walked along unpeopled beaches following the ragged litter-lines of tides, companion to the wailing gulls and turquoise, wild and wonderous waves. Suspended in time, floating slow motioned above reality, I am the sun, the wind-flecked foam, a gritty grain of sand. Above, below, within, without, I see myself and all sees me. Untouched by strife of day or grief of clutching night I linger on the brink of heaven, dangling my feet in pools of sunny sky. Immense solitude is mine " but I am not alone. Friend to the elements, brother of swirling,
gusty winds that pile the towering clouds, I mingle with them constantly. With springy steps I span whole continents at once, bounding through
the barriers of time. I watch the silver bolts of lightning tear avenues through roiling air. Their thunderous, shattered crashes pound the atmosphere and then still silence comes again and all is peace and calm and clear. ©
