It's a Facebook Kind of Day (Isn't that every day?)

Ok friends, I admit it: I really enjoy Facebook! so this is my tribute to the cliches we have all come to know and love. Feel free to add a stanza or two, have fun!

I've been writing some heavy stuff these days and before I go completely mad I needed to lighten my load a bit. Feel free to add to this poem. Hope you enjoy it ;-)

well, it is lighter in the sense of humor of it...but it is a dark truth to me. We are so caught up in the texting and facebook addictions...face to face contact is almost nil, we have all of these friends we don't even know...FB users are told to like everything on Facebook...

do we like everything? i think not, or that we should not..maybe people could get together a bit more and speak out on important issues...

this is clever and thoughtful...i especially like the 4th and 5th stanzas...

Thanks, it was a fun write. I had just finished writing what turned out to be a very difficult, emotional poem, and I needed some silly to balance. But you are so right about fb. Glad you enjoyed it.

This is unusual and I love it. I don't love all this stuff about Facebook, but you've definitely nailed it, & I can feel your enjoyment, even if I find some of this stuff to be annoying when I'm on FB! To me, this is the epitome of celebrating the basic stuff of life, the things we all share in our everyday, & this is the kind of poetry I most prefer to read & write. Ha! Very funny and true! Great flow, rhythm and rhyme to this poem. Facebook does demand attention-constant attention. I had to drop out because of the time drain. It is amusing though. I will share this and save the kitties Mary- Lol!:)

This is hilarious! Facebook provides distraction but only if you want to be distracted.. I enjoy watching the videos as well and the gifs which are the running trend these days ☺

Thanks YumnaKay! I had a blast writing this poem, and it helped me to destress after writing Elohim, which was by far the most heartwrenching poem I have ever written. I enjoy facebook- I have reconnected with high school and college friends, and family members from far away.

Thanks, Chris. I do Facebook (keeps me in touch with family all over the world, and I do enjoy funny cat videos and T-rex Tuesday. I admit it is silly, but I love some silly in my life. I am amazed (and alarmed) at the number of my "friends" who spend most of the day on it.

Thanks so much for the kind review. Sometimes in-person life can be complicated and a short recess in the virtual world of social media can be fun, as long as it's a diversion, and not a lifestyle. I think I may write about Facebook "science" next.
