Snow Love

A Poem by Mary

Winter is cold, but I sometimes think snow has personality. This poem came to me on my drive into work this morning (driving through some flurries of course).

I've always felt a sense of cold tranquility when standing and watching snow fall. It's usually quiet, most of the birds have left for warmer havens and those left don't speak much until they start attracting mates and marking territory in the Spring.

I've always liked the way you use religious imagery. Being brought up VERY Catholic, those images are a huge part of me, not in a faith sort of way, but more like being Jewish I think. Anyway, long review for a short verse! Well done, and thank you for bringing back fond memories of snow for me. :)

You remind me of the snow angel flapping arms and legs in the snow. This piece charmed me. I saw the girl in you dipping your pen into the inkwell.

I have never thought of snowflakes as "David's Star". What a lovely thought!

...when that which is perfect, because it is frozen, becomes warmed, but in so doing loses its original form and identity, is that an allegory of what love does to us?

very well expressed in short manner...
endearing and sweet...
winter is indeed cold but the beaty it brings is breath-taking sight...
a cuddle while watching the snow fall from the skies...
this is great!

thank you, Pax, for your kind review ;-)
for three lines, I think you captured the amount of elegance that the snow has. My favorite line was, "David's icy stars", your biblical references never cease to amaze me.
