First Lulaby

First Lulaby

A Poem by Mary
"

Young Mary greets her baby and promises all things motherly

"

Hush, my little darling boy,

Sleep, my tiny one,

I’m here

To cuddle you and sing to you,

And keep you warm and safe,

I’m here

To teach you all about your world

And kiss your hurts away,

I’m here

To hold your hand then let it go,

And watch you make your way

I’m here

Sleep my tiny baby boy,

Peace, my little one,

I’m here

This poem made me smile, thinking about a mother greeting her baby for the first time. My favorite stanza was, To cuddle you and sing to you,

And keep you warm and safe,

I’m here
because its just so precious and sweet!

I love the sense of dedication in this poem as well as the Last Lullaby. The thought occured to me that a commingling of the two would complete the story with an insight into the resurrection added possibility.

Sounds inspired to me.
Well, I read "Last Lullaby" first, and I think the title fits beautifully. They form a set of songs, from sweetness to sorrow.
