The Tragic Tale of Leroy and LillianA Poem by Mckenziea sad taleIn a sullied world, there was a light The beautiful love of Leroy and Lillian Never was there a love like Leroy and Lillian A love so pure, so innocent, it burned so bright
Even the angels above pause To stare at the young pair, who walked hand in hand Because there was never a love like Leroy and Lillian
Peace was shattered, one fateful day When war erupted throughout the land and Leroy was called During the heat and iron chains of war The envious Death took its chance and snatched the soul of Leroy
Under the full, round orange moon Word was sent to Lillian whose grief was so strong It buckled her knees and tears flood like cold relentless rain
Consumed by a devastation that made demons fall silent Lillian sought the cold creature of Death to beg the soul of her love For a thousand days and night Lillian traveled the earth with pleas that broke the hearts of the angels above Begging the cruel master of Death to return the love of her life
However, Death with a heart made of ice refused her pleas Instead, he refused to take her soul, and she lived, And lived, And lived, And lived, While her love rotted in the grave, Until he was nothing but brown, dusty bones
Lillian lived until time changed the world Her sobs echoed under the orange moon and yellow sun However, she remained at the gates of death
Death never responded to her pleas And there Lillian remained, her love burning bright Awaiting the return of her love Enduring the harsh endless circle of life
