nothing breaks like a heart

nothing breaks like a heart

A Poem by Charles E.McManus
"

description of heartache

"
Nothing breaks like a heart
A glass shattered upon the floor broken and ruined ; shards of glass twinkling like stars in the night sky are so easily swept up and tossed away quickly to be forgotten and replaced.
A chain strong and ready for strain ; breaks under its burden ; Yet so easily a new link can restore it to all its strength and resilience.
Yet the heart breaks and  its never the same, it may heal but the scar will always remain. The heart will go on but it will never beat in time; often leaving you colder ,bitter , even possibly more skeptical of ones who truly want to love you and causing you to break it yourself over and over.
The heart cannot be swept away and replaced, or a new link put in and restored to all its power; No the heart when broken will never truly heal and never be new; beaten and broken it beats on. Its pain ebbs and flows like the tides on the sea but is always there ever a reminder of the hurt it carries.
many things that break in life are repaired or replaced if not simply pushed aside and forgotten; yet the heart when broken cannot be exchanged or made new.
Nothing Breaks like a heart.
