Waking

Waking

A Poem by Charles E.McManus
"

poem about waking up to your partner

"
I wake up to you and feel the pull of your presence. The sheets hold me in place as my heart skips a beat and my breath catches in my chest. I long to touch you; Hold you tight and tell you how much your grace soothes me; yet I refrain and listen to you breathing softly in the morning light; your shape the center stone in the jewelry box your bed has become. Our hearts and souls have gravity that pulls us together and I am complete as our day begins and my heart orbits yours until we are united once more and with their gravity we collide.
