A Satisfying Summer

A Satisfying Summer

A Poem by McKilla

It is a hot summer day,

And I am thinking of what to do today.

There’s nothing much to do but play,

during this time of May.

I ask for one thing,

and only one thing

for this time,

a little excitement in my life

So I start thinking up of words to rhyme,

And maybe I could satisfy myself.

With the help of a good friend of mine,

Maybe we could make something to satisfy ourselves.

Joy will find its way to our hearts

Because we’re never alone.

And things can be done with someone,

We can look upon.

There will be times that our souls

Are calmed, healed, hurt, or rocked on

And despite the hard times,

There will be a friend you can lean on.
