Star Shaped Soul

Star Shaped Soul

A Poem by McKenzie J Chatterton
"

We had to write a poem about an apple in high school, this is mine.

"

There are two sides to me

the outside, cold, bruised, and sometimes gritty

but cut me open and look inside

you'll see a star with bursts of color around my heart

a poison core and rough edges

but each cut that goes through me

only adds strength to my star shaped soul

What a beautiful way to describe the inner beauty of life that can be found even in an apple... May be the outside is hard but the inside is as precious as the stars in the sky... I love your take on this... beautifully done...

Sincerely
Dhiman
