the broken girl in the black dress

the broken girl in the black dress

A Poem by McKenna B.

That sober girl broke down

wish she would be gave up on

Gave up on everyone

A broken soul with no home

Never found that girl myself

was it really the heart that likes running in clouds

thinking paradise outside of the cost

to pretend you’re there it’s given the promise

to pretend oblivion

And never again knock on his door

Because to her, he is in oblivion

But not real oblivion, this is just how she avoids

The tearstains on her favorite black dress

And black shoes

And on your gravestone.

"wish she would be gave up on"….not sure what that means and really could be eliminated from the poem…(I think….)
The poem as whole however, was outstanding…touching…honest…heartfelt.
A very moving and poignant write, McKenna.
but I certainly would like to know more..
