My Secret

My Secret

A Poem by G. Coleman

Would you,

Still talk to me,

If you knew,

my secret.

Would you,

Think ill of me,

If I told you,

My secret.

I find,

No one,

From here,

To the stars above,

I fear,

Who will not,

Turn tail and run,

Once I tell them of my fun.

Would you,

Still talk to me,

If you knew,

my secret.

Would you,

Think ill of me,

If I told you,

My secret.

I’ve found,

No one,

My dear,

Whom I can share my,

Fear.

Who will not,

Stop my fun,

If I were to let them run.

Would you,

Still talk to me,

If you knew,

my secret.

Would you,

Think ill of me,

If I told you,

My secret.

I’m afraid,

I have no choice.

But please know,

From my tone of voice.

That you were,

My favorite.

Love this. Very dark but pleading and beautifully sad. You feel the pain of someone who has a darkness inside of them that they fear others might judge or turn from if it was ever shared.

A nice sad poem. I really do love poems that end sadly. A vivid tone of isolation detected here... classical work.
