IN THE CITYA Poem by Mbabazi stellahThe melee and the confusion in the city
IN THE CITY
The city shines But there's no order To survive you have to rub shoulders with robbers Walk with sinners Shake hands with burglars Yet you ought to give Way to the halting vehicles Mini-skirts, high heels, red lips Long nails, diamond hair Shinny bangles and dangling earrings Roam around Making money to survive Black suits, brief cases shiny shoes and straight ties Sit in their offices managing their businesses While others in tights and jeans Walk with pride on streets And tinted cars stride along the high ways In the shanty city Where evil is mouthed but not spoken The truth is arcane And sin is alive But justice is one sided Or perhaps absent Talk about order No one will care Everyone seems to be Cheerfully, steadily and freely Moving on with life In the shanty city we creed Mbabazi Stellah © 2022 Mbabazi stellahAuthor's Note
