Under The Influence (poem)

Under The Influence (poem)

A Poem by Alaska

A glass of wine could clear my mind,
but a bottle could make me forget completely.
Let’s toast tonight,
to a better life,
one where you’re still my other side.
And as the night blurs,
forget our drunken slurs,
confessions of love that don’t mean a thing.
And darling, I’m under your influence,
you go right through me,
you’re in my blood,
making me forget who I am,
and that’s okay with me.
Yeah, that’s okay with me.
