Stardust (lyrics)A Poem by AlaskaLyrics for the acoustic/indie band I'm working on, She Hates The Bird. For the month of June, I've taken solace in counting shooting stars, even though meteors have no relevance to granting my wishes. Maybe one day the faux stardust magic will fall down, help to ease my sorrow, and I'll be able to truly smile. The summer wind has never been more humid, though warm, it still chills me to the bone. When I retire, I will leave my window open to let in the stars, that way I won't be sleeping alone. Enchanted by a wind song lullaby, tonight, I will fall asleep in my own arms. I'll dream lightly, waiting patiently for closure. (She Hates The Bird) © 2011 Alaska |
