Stalemate

Stalemate

A Poem by Maynard Winter
"

What I go through on a daily basis.

"
Constant instability in body and mind
Uncertainty consumes me
Who am I?
Where am I going?
Am I better than I was yesterday?

I'm tired of trying to help myself
Self-help books only work when you're focused
You only see results when you work
Why must I work on my happiness?

My heart is exhausted from uncertainty
Exhausted from constant reminders that:

I'm better than this
I'll work through this
I can beat this

My body is tired from this daily battle
It always ends in a stalemate

This is true, I think, of many persons...there is always sum point at which u have to battle with yourself on sum point or other, even tho u know ur just battling to get thru the day...to stay sane. Congrats, you've successfully described my life as well. :-)
