Derealization

Derealization

A Poem by Maylin
"

This poem is to explain what it feels like to experience derealization disorder.

"

Abducted from your earth.  Placed inside a virtual reality box.

The simulation is advanced, but your touch is hollow, footsteps sound like thunder, and your head spins

You go on vacation and laugh a hysterical laugh because it’s not real, none of it is real.

They didn’t code the mirrors right. because it never looks like you.

You feel the presence of a wind, that sings like a haunted halway, and whistles through your essence.

IT ACHES, but they will continue to taunt you with life, and you’ll never have it -- only a simulation.
