Old people

Old people live in another reality. They care about every little detail except the important ones. They ask a lot of questions, every day the same questions, they never get bored, they never feel our anguish, they never notice their �other reality�. They never understand our stress, our problems, our duties, our occupations, our work. They even don�t understand our need for entertainment. They can�t imagine what a dream may mean and how crazy we could be to make it come true. They can�t afford craziness, extreme happiness� they call it exception, deviation, they consider it wrong!
But we never notice that we don�t afford their thoughts and preoccupations either. We can�t understand them, we don�t want to admit that we would someday become just like them, as much as they forgot that they were one day just like us.
And the real reason why their behavior drives us crazy is that we wish deep inside we cared about nothing but the same little unimportant details as them.

I think that they live in a different reality. In their reality, death can be lurking around any corner. We see death as being as far away as the horizon. They see worrying about five years from now as not useful, they worry about "now" we see the oppositte. I think your observations are sage and when though about extensively, they make perfect sense.
