The First Touch

The First Touch

A Poem by Mae Taylor
"

Personally this how I feel when someone I very much like kisses me for the first time.

"

There is a moment where you can feel your own heart beat,

When adrenaline claims the mind.

Forgotten is the ability to form rational thought, as you are taken over.

The breathe stops but your lungs greedily take in air.

In the throat there is a tightness making you feel trapped,

The body feeling free.

Slowly the senses start to come alive as you notice the deep smell.

The feeling of weightless dizziness overtakes you,

Threatening to make you tumble into eternal bliss.

The falling gives encouragement to stay strong, balance is regained.

These emotions spring round in an endless cycle,

Never ending though taking little time.

The lips become the most sensitive part of your body,

They explore something so similar and foreign.

At last the brushing against your shoulder is recognized,

An involuntary gasp escapes your lips but does not hinder the action.

The skin comes alive becoming conscious of every touch no matter how small.

Any fear blown away as you are left with nothing safe affection.
