We Need You

We Need You

A Poem by A. L. Z.

We need more of your presence here,

Even though our comfort crosses gears,

We change to be complacent here,

When all your love erases fears,

Its easier to stay right here,

Laying down old bloody spears,

But then in stagnance we begun,

To play again the wicked pun,

To throw away You hearts desires,

And selfishly build our own empires.

I absolutely adore the last four lines. Beautifully entangled and witty. That's awesome to be able to view the change in humanity away from the values we learned from Christ just to exalt ourselves. It is very true and one of if not the best christian poem I've ever read.
