This corner

A Poem by Maxwell Ryder

We’re given this corner to stand on and peddle our goods,
hawk our own newspaper, write our own books.
It’s not big, it’s not small - it’s proportional to our call.
Some get Fifth Avenue, some get the Washington Mall.
It’s not private; it’s public domain; so don’t pee on the hydrant and make stains,
or else other dogs will come along and do the same.
If you’re reasonable and don’t graffiti the walls,
you’ll even be allowed to keep a stall.

Brilliantly creative way to spoof the current rash of online trolls! I like the way you put responsibility on both sides. I don't dish out s**t & I don't take any s**t, so the trolls stopped bothering me after the first year. This is actually very good advice, disguised as a poem *wink! wink!* I also love your hydrant metaphor (brilliantly executed) & the nicely caustic tone (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
