Room to grow

Room to grow

A Poem by Maxwell Ryder

What I knew is what I know,
And I know I'm not through
Being a little bit bold, or
Knowing something new;
I may be long in the tooth,
But getting old isn't new;
I am still that same dude,
With that very same soul,
Who still has room to grow;
Can I say the same of you?

As should be, there's both honesty and pride in your words. Seems these days ignorance sees age as 'being past it', as if experiences gained in living life now have little or no meaning. What rot! Give me history on stout or trembling legs and i'll have the means of aging wisely! So there.

You're very welcome. Wishing you Happy Everything.
well....i think i am very much the same...but oh so very different as well ;} i like the opening line most .. its kind of like the snake eating itself by the tail ... a conundrum for me morning coffee ... and i like the room to grow...we all need and have it says i! ..some deep thoughts in a few lines
