I took the bit

"
I took the bit
Bridled
Saddled,
I was
Trotted out,
Thinking myself
A work horse, but
I bucked the rider
Who hadn't broken
My spirit, yet
And out I rode
Into the night,
Making equestrian
Of man's barbed wires.

nice us of the metaphor Max! admirable work says i! and your closing is the "rebel" in me still ... tho time has shrunken it ... it still has that flame ;) love reading "I took the bit" ..such a large part of life wrapped up in such a small capsule .. love it!
