Just the dopamine

Just the dopamine

A Poem by Maxwell Ryder

I got excited: I projected, I channeled, I pretended I'd won.
I felt like the kid I used to be, dreaming on the sofa, asleep;
If only for a second inside this dream did creep,
A former self of me. Or maybe it was just the dopamine.
