Dust to dust

Dust to dust

A Poem by Maxwell Ryder

"
Dust to stone,
And back to dust.
We are owned not by us,
But God alone.
The unknown is fashioned
As sentiments sealed upon
sediments, turned to bones.
Time is the only impediment
To the creation of our souls
Their destruction is just as old;
The grave is continuous,
And the narrative, very cold.
We are born, we grow,
And die at dusk, all alone,
In a chain of Creation
Swallowed up by black holes.
