Censorship

Censorship

A Poem by Maxwell Ryder

Censorship is on the stove
It’s what’s for dinner
It’s cooking;
It rattles the pot.
It steams
Until the water boils off
And blackens the kettle
Blacker than it was,
Charring free speech.
