Milagro Dos Pesos

Milagro Dos Pesos

A Poem by Maxwell Ryder

I once went to Mexico
In search of peyote
And free love,
But when I got there,
I found coyote,
tequila,
banditos and guns;
I left Mexico
a victim of drugs;
I got home
miraculously whole,
Wearing a sombrero,
Singing gaucho
Tejano songs for fun;
I named my cactus
Milagro Dos Pesos,
Who’ll grow into
a big saguaro
with a little bit of luck.

Thank you, BBP. Glad you got to experience the Old of Mexico. I like your pen a lot as well.
