![]() Beyond HadesA Poem by Maxwell Ryder
I was on a ride
I knew was different From the start; Life looked different, I didn’t play the part. People walked around The circumference Of their own heads, Asked wrong questions, Got wrong answers, Lived outside hearts, And lost in others’ beds; Sunday after Sunday came, without fail, the same text was read; But wisdom, sadly, It did not impart; To glory, Man wasn’t led. Whispers were chased, Temptation never fled; The glorious book Had left them Beyond Hades, for dead. © 2017 Maxwell Ryder |
